EXCITEMENT OF NEW GRANDBABY COMING!

I was determined that 2020 was going to be a great year and the year did start with exciting news from Kephren and Steven that they were expecting their first baby! They told Dave and I on the 9th of January for our birthdays and it was a complete surprise! The baby is due in September and we are thrilled! This news was great but then we all started to learn about this new virus that was affecting many people in China and of course was creeping our way into the country! All of our lives have been changed in ways we could not have forseen.  It has been a good wake up call to see if we are really prepared that if we had to go a couple weeks without going to the store could we get by with what we have! Keph has become more of a baker and has been trying new recipes! We talked on our Flosstube about Popovers and so I thought I would include the recipe here for those who would like to have it.
POPOVERS

1 Cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 Cup milk
3 large eggs
1 tablespoon butter, melted
Cooking Spray
Vegetable oil
Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees

Combine flour, and salt, stirring with a whisk.
Combine milk and eggs in another bowl, stirring with a whisk until blended, let stand for
30 minutes.  Gradually add flour mixture, stirring well with a whisk. Stir in butter.
Coat 6 popover cups with cooking spray, brush oil evenly among the cups to coat.
Place the popover cups in the 375 degree oven for 5 miutes. Take them out and divide the batter evenly among the prepared popover cups.
Bake at 375 for 40 minutes or until golden brown.

We love this recipe! We hope you do as well!
Have a great day!

Dream Whip Dessert Recipe

I promised myself  that this year I would do more on social media and I would really like to get this blog up and running! This is a great place for us to post recipes and other things that we talk about on our YouTube channel Snug Harbor Crafts.  We talked about a recipe called Dream Whip Dessert and I thought everybody knew this recipe from the 80"s and 90"s  but it looks like a lot of people didn't know about it.  They still make Dream Whip and it can usually be found on the baking aisle or by the Jell-O and pudding products.  Here is the recipe:

DREAM WHIP DESSERT

2 Pkgs. Dream Whip
1 Cup Powdered Sugar
1-8 oz. Creme Cheese

CRUST:
2 C. flour
1 C. butter
1/2 c. Brown Sugar
1/2 c. Pecans chopped

Whip the Dream Whip with the Milk into stiff peaks. Add powdered sugar slowly and then add the softened creme cheese.

Combine all ingredients for crust. Spread out in a 9 x 13 and bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 14 minutes until lightly brown. After the crust comes out of the oven take a fork and break it up and save part to sprinkle on the top of the creme cheese mixture.  When the crust has cooled spread the creme cheese mixture onto the crumble crust and then top the mixture with the rest of the crust you have saved.  You can refrigerate this dessert until you serve it.

We love this and I use the 1/3 less fat creme cheese to make mine and it tastes great!

Hope you are all having a great day!!
